Manx National Heritage and Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled have teamed up to offer a new carriage riding experience at The Grove. Due to predicted poor weather this event is now being rescheduled for Saturday September 2 and Sunday, September 3 at 11am to 3pm.

We are looking for two FMNH volunteers to assist with visitor comfort and safety at this event, ideally with experience of horses and/or farming/animal husbandry. The volunteers for this event will be asked to hold visitors back from the pathway by operating a rope barrier when the pony and carriage is coming through and then allow them access once the vehicle has safely passed. There is no direct contact with horses required, but a good working knowledge of how the animals are managed and how they might react to variable conditions would add value to these voluntary roles. You will be working outdoors and require appropriate clothing with sturdy, gripped sole shoes or boots. Refreshments are available and there is a break for lunch.

If you are interested, please email your availability for the above dates to hayley@fmnh.im by Monday, August 7.
