Yuki Tokunaga, a researcher from University of Tokyo’s Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) is visiting the Isle of Man. During his visit, Yuki will deliver a talk to FMNH, to explore what small communities can learn from Japan’s oldest businesses.

Yuki says: “over the past two years, I have been travelling across Japan to study long-established businesses and traditional crafts, exploring how they have survived social, economic and generational change. In this talk, I will share some of the stories I have encountered and consider what they can teach us about resilience, continuity and adaptation.” Yuki’s talks are designed for general audiences and use stories, real-world examples, and visual material.
