Annual General Meeting 2012

Friends of Manx National Heritage will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 17th November 2012 at the Manx Museum at 11am

Dear Friend,

I am pleased to be sending you the latest FMNH events list which will take us through to the end of March. I hope I have something for everyone. We have the very popular curatorial talks at the Museum. For those of you who enjoy the dining experiences we have a Mhelliah Dinner at the Abbey, a Medieval Banquet at Castle Rushen (wait until you see the decorations!) and back by popular demand - Poetry and Pies and the Murder Mystery. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

I do hope you have found the website helpful. Particularly for those of you who have renewed /joined via pay pal. Of course we also have the arrangement with the Post Office which enables you to join / renew using a credit card, cheque or cash at any Post Office

You will have read about the latest reciprocal with York Archaeological Trust in the Chairman’s letter. This exhibition is very exciting, particularly as the Valhalla exhibition is currently on display at Coppergate in York until the beginning of November. This is the result of collaborations with York Minster and MNH, bringing together key Viking burial findings. Manx2 have kindly offered FMNH a discount on flights to Leeds Bradford for October. Click on www.Manx2.com and put in FMNH in the promotional box.

Lastly, the Farm Manager at Cregneash has been in touch with me to ask if any members would be interested in ‘home grown’ Loughtan lamb for the freezer. Contact me if you are interested.

This has been a tremendous year for the volunteer programme.   Thank you for all your help and hard work.

Many thanks for your continued support.

With best wishes

Nicola
